In Jesus, we meet a God who came to be with us and who meets us where we are. As we try to love others the way Jesus loves us, we are called to do this incarnational ministry with one another. Youth ministry at Maitland Pres takes this call seriously. Jonathan McKinney and Vanessa Urban not only invite middle and high school students to come to the church on Sunday evenings, but they also go to be with them and meet them where they are.
They attend sporting events, concerts and performances. They've met the youth at 6 in the morning coffee and donuts to offer Ash Wednesday ashes. They check in throughout the week about school and relationships. They celebrate good days and walk alongside of youth through difficult times. The youth group of Maitland Pres has become a family.
