America's Original Sin

Dear Church,

This week, we have been reminded once again that America's original sin is racism. And sadly, we continue to fail to confront it. 

Would you please take some time today to read or listen to the “Letter from Birmingham Jail” written by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It  is under consideration to be added to our denomination’s Book of Confessions because it speaks just as clearly to us today as it did fifty-seven years ago.
