Christmas at Maitland Pres!

Updated: Nov 29, 2021

We are excited for a wonderful Advent and Christmas season together here at the church! In the graphic above you can see a summary of the events and worship services we have planned.

Each week we will have our regular worship services at 9 (Contemporary/Kids' Sunday School) and 11 (Traditional) in the sanctuary. Masks are optional for all church services. Each Sunday we will have Advent candle lightings, Christmas music and a sermon series highlighting specific Christmas carols.

During the 10:00 hour we will also have a special Advent activity each Sunday in the Fellowship Hall. Here is some more information:

November 28 at 10:00: The youth will host a pancake breakfast and craft stations will be set up for children to make a Christmas ornament to take home.

December 5 at 10:00: Come eat cookies provided by the Presbyterian Women and make a Crismon to decorate the tree in the sanctuary! Crismons are Christmas decorations highlighting Christian symbols.

December 12 at 10:00: Join Matthew in the Fellowship Hall for Christmas carol singing and hot chocolate.

December 19 at 10:00: We will be collecting coats and blankets for the homeless. Bring them to the Fellowship Hall and then take time to sign Christmas cards we will be sending to our homebound members. There will be special music at the 11:00 service this Sunday!

There will also be Christmas puzzles out in the Fellowship Hall all month! Come by and work on a puzzle and chat to a friend anytime the office is open.

On Christmas Eve we will have two worship services. Our Family Service is at 5:00. During this service we share a special presentation of the Christmas story for our children and families, sing Christmas carols and light candles. Christmas pajamas are welcome! At the 9:00 service we celebrate Christmas Eve with traditional music, candlelight and a sermon.

The following two Sundays, December 26 and January 2, we will have one service at 10:00 before resuming our standard worship schedule in the new year.

We look forward to seeing you as we celebrate the birth of Jesus together!
